Wine Guides for the Traveling Vineyard promote the company’s exclusive wines at private, in-home wine tastings in return for a commission.
The Traveling Vineyard calls their representatives Wine Guides, and if you decide to become one, you’ll receive the necessary training to hold a tasting. Wine Guides identify hosts who are willing to hold the event in their home in return for free or reduced priced wines. Since the evening is educational, hosts usually have no trouble finding 10 or fifteen people to come to a free wine tasting.
As a Wine Guide, you will tell people about the Traveling Vineyard’s exclusive wines and show them how to judge the quality for themselves. You will also explain which foods to pair with the wine, so there is little selling involved. If guests like the wine, which is generally no more than $25 per bottle, you will take their orders and pass them along to the Traveling Vineyard. Wine Guides also promote the Traveling Vineyard’s wine club and business opportunity. Building a team will allow you to increase your income.
Becoming an independent representative for the Traveling Vineyard allows you to make hosting wine tasting events a part time option, since there are no sales quotas, or make participation in the program a full time career. Initially, you will purchase two tasting sets and training materials, and after that, you will need one tasting set per event. If you make a certain number of sales, you are credited for the cost of the set. In addition, Wine Guides receive a website where they can generate sales and recruit others. After the first three months, you will pay a small fee to maintain the site.
